Desktop Publishing is the use of a personal computer (MAC or PC) and special software, such as PageMaker, QuarkXPress, FrameMaker, MS Publisher, Illustrator, PhotoShop, etc., to lay out a page of text, pictures and graphical elements ready for printing or web viewing.

Because translation affects the length and appearance of a document, the document will need to be reformatted after text translation is completed. Also, associated graphics need adjustment to ensure they are applicable to the target audience.
